Tall Poppies continue to thrive in 2021

Posted on December 28, 2020 at 4:48 pm by Breandain O'Shea

 Dear Listeners and Salon Guests,

I hope this message finds you safe and well after what has been a challenging year for us all.

Thank you for your many emails over the last few months. It is very encouraging to know that so many people enjoy the podcast. Various analytics programmes allow me to see just how vast the listenership of the podcast is and, at last count, we have ardent Tall Poppies listeners in over 20 countries.

While one-to-one interviews and studio access have been tricky these last months, the Tall Poppies team has been using the time to update the website. While we are in the initial stages of this process, regular visitors will notice webmaster Enrique has been tweaking the site. I am excited to announce there will be many more new features coming soon, so keep an eye out.

In other news, Gail Jones’s latest book “Our Shadows,” was published in English in September. You can hear about this book in Gail’s podcast here:

And here is an article by Gail published recently in The Conversation, where she examines the state of funding of Australian literature.

Remember that Tall Poppies is a living archive, so stay tuned for further podcasts coming soon. To those who support this project, my heartfelt thanks. If you’d like to contribute to the Tall Poppies project,  visit my Patreon site to find out just how easy it is:

Wishing everyone a happy and, especially, a healthy 2021.

Stay well and stay safe.

Best wishes,

Breandáin
